    I am biased, am a plant based jihad, that being said, this book is enlightening on so many levels. now we got a foot in the scientific door like never before, thanks to doctor Campbell's clarity and his knack for expressing simply very complicated issues. Anyone with health issues and tired of the usual pill for an ill approach will find himself in front of Ali baba's cavern. Thank you Dr. Campbell!

    I do not write reviews often, but after reading "The China Study" I have to speak up. Mr. Campbell's book is for the academic scholar as well as the lay person. I am one of the latter and I must say, I have never had my eyes opened and my mind as challenged as well as I have with TCS. Mr. Campbell explains in detail why a whole food, plant based diet is so important for optimal health. Want to know WHY organic is best? Check out the book. Want to know why shunning meat and milk is the best way to get on the path to longevity? Read a couple of chapters. There is much to consider about a vegan or raw lifestyle when you LEARN what processed, factory farmed and unhealthy foods are doing to our bodies. This is the nutritional book by which all others should be held to. There is something to be said when your doctor advocates a meat and milk based diet under the guise that they are vital for proper iron and calcium in the body---and then years later that same doctor comes to Dr. Campbell for help after that doctor has been diagnosed with cancer. There is also much we can learn about the power of positive thought (pick up the book "Anatomy of an Illness (as perceived by the patient)" by Norman Cousins. There is no reason for any of us to fall I'll when optimal health is as close as that next forkful of food. Pick up a copy of "The China Study" and you'll at least gain a higher level of understanding for the word "nutrition."

    This book by leaps and bounds was the most detailed, easy to understand, and life changing nutritional book I have ever read - and I've read many. Hands down everyone should read this book. Excellent will change everything you ever knew about food and the connections to illness and disease will floor you.

    Very informative. Takes meat eaters like myself out of your comfort zone. I am still confused about what is best for me and my body, but I am 7 weeks into this diet and can attest to what he writes. Will it continue? Will I start to have side effects?

    If you are are looking for a PETA friendly book that skews the China Study data then this is the book for you. He talks about animal protein used in rats but the study only includes milk protein or casein protein. Everyone already knows that cows milk is only good for cows!

Colin Campbell makes an iron clad case that by eating a strictly plant based whole food diet I can reduce to almost zero my chances of suffering from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and a long list of auto immune diseases. This is wonderful news! And I have a high level of confidence that I can rely on his prescription because it arises from a massive of amount of peer reviewed science. The bad news is that the cognizant government agencies as well as the medical establishment are firmly in the pocket of the industries that would suffer if people started eating this way. T. Colin Campbell shows us the smoking gun for this monstrous crime. So, the implications of this book are political in addition to nutritional. The book is not an easy read but no more difficult than it needs to be given the scope and complexity of the subject matter.
